Deleting your data
Last updated August 2026
The short version
Email info@askgurpreet.com with the subject Delete my data, from the address you used, or send a DM from the Instagram account you used. Everything held about you is removed within 30 days, usually the same week. You do not have to give a reason.
Instagram: comments and messages
If you commented on one of my Instagram posts or replied to a message from me, a small amount of that interaction may be stored so the automation does not message you twice.
- What is held — your Instagram username, the text of the comment or message you sent, and a record that a reply was sent to it.
- Why — Instagram allows exactly one automatic reply per comment, so there has to be a record of which comments have already been answered.
- What is never held — your password, your follower list, your private activity, or anything from accounts other than mine.
- How to delete it — DM @askgurpreet with the words delete my data, or email the address above. Deleting your own comment on Instagram removes it from Instagram, but email or DM me as well if you want the stored copy gone too.
Email addresses you sent me
If you sent an email address to receive a resource, it is used to send you that resource and to tell you about the masterclass or the internship cohort. Ask and it is deleted, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works without contacting me.
Purchases
Order records are held by Stripe and are subject to accounting rules — those cannot always be deleted immediately, and I will tell you plainly if that applies to you. Everything outside the legal minimum goes.
CVs sent for a Story Audit
Deleted automatically 90 days after you send it, whether or not you ask. The confirmation email also contains a one-click link that erases it immediately. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
What happens after you ask
- You get a reply confirming what was held and that it has gone.
- It is done within 30 days, and normally within a few days.
- If something cannot be deleted — a Stripe record kept for tax — you are told what and why, rather than it being quietly left in place.
